Hi there. Just installed drivers for Samsung printer M2885FW and everything looks fine. But when I install the official software, EASY DOCUMENT CREATOR, it doesn't recognize the printer. So I'm not able to use the scanner. Printer is working fine.
The latest version of the Portable SSD Software can be found at Please note that the software for the T7 Touch and T7 is different from the software for previous generations of portable SSD (T5, X5, and lower).

Universal Print Driver is compatible with samsung printer or multi-function printers (MFP) that use the PCL6 or PostScript languages, which means that different devices from different manufacturers can be accessed under one driver. Samsung Universal Print Driver is also compatible with macOS 11.0 or big sur, and Windows.
I have mine connected through wi-fi and have only been able to scan through the native Preview program, as a dedicated Samsung scan application was not installed with the standard Samsung package (I installed a version from the HP/Samsung website, instead of using the CD).
Native Mac OS scanning (via Preview "Import from" option) still works on my iMac 0 but the TWAIN drivers do not work with my MacBookPro 1, throwing a "-9950" error ("Software for this device is not installed (-9950)").
I successfully used the solution provided in another thread, entitled "Scanning problems with C480FW and macOS mojave" (native Mac OS 10.14 scanning does not work, must use Samsung application Easy Document Creator).
FYI and IMO, the Samsung application Easy Document Creator is quite inferior to the native Mac Scanning application, e.g., when scanning multiple small documents placed on the same single page scan pass, the app creates one A4-sized file for each document, while the native app creates a file with an image with just the size of the given document.
In this tab, clicking through "Scan" - "Open Scanner" brings up an almost blank "Scanner" window, where clicking on the only available button "Show Details", changes the window to another almost blank "Scanner" window, now with greyed out Preview-like buttons ("hide details", "overview" and "scan").
I see that new drivers OS Catalina are available (10. dec 2019) for both the printer as the scanner. But installing seems to be impossible, even if I open the privacy settings for malware. Anyone an idea? Once I succeeded to scan, via USB, but could not open de .pdf file, it should be damaged. I'm regretting my purchase!

Dynamsoft has updated its Web TWAIN software development kit (SDK) to provide native scanning support in Mac OS X, removing the need to install a driver for use. The kit is used by developers to quickly create robust web-based document management system. Dynamsoft is a developer of scanner programming libraries and image capture SDKs.
Dynamic Web TWAIN 9.1 also features Sandbox security. This ensures browser-based image scanning applications are securely separated from the imaging devices. The use of Sandbox also ensures hassle-free communication with TWAIN-compliant devices. Supported devices include TWAIN-compatible scanners, digital cameras or capture cards.
The SDK is ideal for web developers requiring simple-to-develop image capture applications. The provided TWAIN interface allows developers to write just a couple of lines of code in JavaScript. This is instead of taking months to learn the TWAIN standard and then develop an application with hundreds to thousands of lines of code. Dynamic Web TWAIN is optimized for web applications. The finished application gives users key features for scanning, uploading, editing, and document management within web browsers.
"Users like simplicity to do online document scanning," said Amy Gu, Vice President of Dynamsoft. "So, it was important for us to ensure native scanning support for Mac OS X as we've done with other operating systems. And, we'll continue to innovate to make the image acquisition application development process even more streamlined."
Rather than focusing attention on Apple's Touch ID, the only functional biometric sensor to ever gain widespread adoption in a high volume product introduction, or dwell on the fact that Samsung was only able to bring its own fingerprint sensor to market seven months later in a form widely panned by critics as not as reliable, secure or easy to use, Rhee focused on a possible future involving iris scanners.
Rhee suggested that iris scanning would someday become available "even in low-end smartphone models," the Wall Street Journal report noted, but acknowledged that new types of sensors "will likely be available for adoption in high-end phones first."
In stark contrast, only about a third of Samsung's phones are iPhone-class, premium models. And none of the 9 million Galaxy S4 models the company shipped alongside iPhone 5s last winter included fingerprint scanning as a feature.
Dr. Namsung Stephen Woo, president of Samsung's System LSI, alluded to Apple's 64-bit A7 Application Processor used in iPhone 5s and iPad Air, saying "many people were thinking 'why do we need 64-bit for mobile devices?' People were asking that question until three months ago, and now I think nobody is asking that question. Now people are asking 'when can we have that? And will software run correctly on time?'"
Woo also offered no comment on how Samsung planned to support existing software on its future 64-bit offerings, nor even whether such a chip would get custom Android support or use Samsung's own Tizen or some other operating system. 2ff7e9595c
